We are looking for an experienced sports reporter to join the ever-growing ranks of award-winning national press agency Sportsbeat based in our London office in Wimbledon.
We are primarily looking for a reporter with an encyclopedic knowledge of rugby union, football and cricket, particularly the English Premiership and Celtic League (the National League system would be a bonus), as well as the Premier League and Football League, plus the County Championship but ideally who also has an interest and strong understanding of Olympic sports.
You’ll have to love sport, be a team player and a great all-rounder, with the ability to use Quark XPress, edit content to tight deadlines and have a strong knowledge of various content management systems.
As well as being a talented sub-editor and writer, we are looking for a reporter with a minimum of three years’ experience in a newsroom and knowledge of social media platforms – this is not a position for a journalism starter.
Candidates will need to have a full NCTJ diploma in journalism, including 100-words per-minute shorthand and should possess a full clean driving licence.
Enthusiasm and a love of digital media and a track record in print is essential, as well as a flexible approach to working hours are a necessity. We are looking to fill the role promptly.

Digital Content Journalist
We are looking for a confident and ambitious young reporter to join our digital content team and help develop our growing portfolio of social media clients, and redefine our own brand in the digital space.
Working with the head of social, you’ll be responsible for creating unique and arresting content for a wide range of clients, working with some of the biggest names in the sports industry and driving audience growth and engagement across multiple channels.
You’ll have a passion for sport as well as social and new platforms, coordinating content with our editorial, production and design teams.
As well as editing and creating daily content for a variety of clients you’ll be involved in shaping our marketing and content calendars, learn to use the latest social media monitoring tools, working directly with major brands and boosting traffic on their platforms.
You’ll be social media savvy and excited about emerging technologies and the opportunities offered by new social platforms, able to manage deadlines in a dynamic working environment, and a good team player with a strong work ethic.
