Sportsbeat appoint Megan King as social media editor
Sportsbeat have appointed their first full-time social media editor.
Megan King will join the newsdesk in June from south coast marketing agency Inferno.
King – who will report to head of broadcast and social media Ric Sumner – is a graduate of the NCTJ journalism school at the University of Sheffield, with a resume that includes work at ITV News.
She will help the agency with content discovery, verification and copyright.
“We’re delighted to welcome Megan to our team,” said managing editor James Toney.
“Social media plays an increasingly integral part of the briefs and accounts we work on and this appointment, to work alongside Ric, is an important part of our strategy.
“We deliver social media thought leadership and content delivery for clients that reaches millions every day – across Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and SnapChat.
“And Megan will also help ensure that the work we do, the stories we tell and the clients we work for are better represented across our own digital channels.”
Sportsbeat deliver a wide range of social media content and strategies to clients including the FA Women’s Super League, British Olympic Association, Six Day cycling, SSE Next Generation/SportsAid and Lifestyle Sports.
