Work at Sportsbeat

Multimedia sports Journalist

Closing Date: January 12 2018

We are looking for a confident and ambitious sports reporter to join our team and help develop our ever-growing portfolio of print and web-based media clients.

You must be knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sport to complement the ever-growing ranks of our award-winning national press agency.

You’ll be responsible for creating unique and bespoke content for a wide range of clients, working with some of the biggest names in the sports industry and driving the editorial success across multiple channels.

You’ll have a passion for sport, an understanding of working, uploading and managing web content, as well as social and new platforms, coordinating content with our editorial, production and design teams.

We are primarily looking for a reporter with an encyclopaedic knowledge of rugby union, golf and football, who also has an interest and strong understanding of Olympic sports.

You’ll have to love sport, be a team player and a great all-rounder, with the ability to use Quark XPress, edit content to tight deadlines and have a strong knowledge of various content management systems.

As well as being a talented sub-editor and writer, we are looking for a reporter with a minimum of two years’ experience in a newsroom and knowledge of social media platforms – this is not a position for a journalism starter.

Candidates will need to have a full NCTJ diploma in journalism, including 100-words per-minute shorthand and should possess a full clean driving licence.

Enthusiasm and a love of digital media and a track record in print is essential, as well as a flexible approach to working hours are a necessity. We are looking to fill the role promptly.

This is a fantastic opportunity for the right candidate looking to break into sport, to work with some exciting brands, media outlets and National Governing Bodies and take a leadership role in driving our editorial partnerships, with plenty of scope for progression in what would be a great addition to your CV.

All applications should be submitted to Sportsbeat editor-in-chief David Parsons via email – dparsons@sportsbeat.co.uk
