Sportsbeat’s racing ahead with latest governing body client
Sportsbeat will work with Horse Racing Ireland to deliver a range of editorial and social media solutions.
For so many years, Ireland has been a dominant force on the world’s racing stage, enjoying fantastic success and indeed, punching well above its weight in terms of breeding and racing achievement.
Under the broad campaign theme of ‘Every Racing Moment’, Sportsbeat will provide content – from words to video to graphics – for official website and digital channels.
Working with partners the Racing Post, Sportsbeat will focus on telling the story behind the story and bringing alive the pride, passion and personalities of Irish racing.
Coverage will be upscaled around key racing events, both in Ireland and the UK and around the world, such as the Dublin Racing Festival, Cheltenham Festival, Punchestown Festival, major flat classics, Royal Ascot and the Breeders’ Cup.
Sportsbeat’s creative team of journalists, editors, graphic designers, videographers and social media producers will contribute to the seven day a week content service.
“Horse Racing Ireland have a bold ambition in telling the story of their sport, so much of which often goes unreported, in bold and imaginative ways,” said Sportsbeat’s managing editor James Toney. “We’re looking forward to doing things differently.”
Sportsbeat started working with the governing body in the build-up to the reopening of the historic Curragh racecourse earlier this year, using famous racing names, including Frankie Dettori and William Buick, in a video-led content strand that recalled famous races at the venue.
