Sportsbeat to help BUCS tell story of their centenary year
British Universities Sports – the national governing for higher education sport in the UK – will work with Sportsbeat on a content strategy that will celebrate their 100th year.
Sportsbeat will provide a range of services from social media and digital content creation to syndication, with our team on the ground at major events on the BUCS calendar.
We will be telling the stories of 100 BUCS alumni, charting their progress from college playing fields to the biggest stage.
We started the #UniSport100 campaign with a video profile of Rio 2016 Olympic rowing gold medallist Tom Ransley (University of York & University of Cambridge).
And our studio produced graphics to help tell the story of England Lionness Fran Kirby (Bucks New University), a Ballon D’or nominee, who won gold at the World University Games in 2013.
The series also featured double Olympic champion and London 2012 organiser Lord Sebastian Coe (Loughborough University).
We will also be featuring the best of the class of 2019 and 2020 in a #MyBUCSStory content strand.
“One of the great things about Sportsbeat is how we cover every twist and turn of an athletes’ journey, from their small beginnings to the biggest stage,” said editor-in-chief David Parsons.
“From our work with SportsAid – a charity that funds athletes taking their first steps – to this work with BUCS and our long-standing partnerships with the British Olympic Association and British Paralympic Association, telling these stories, in increasingly creative and engaging ways, is at the core of our DNA.”
