Sportsbeat was appointed by Horse Racing Ireland, the national authority for thoroughbred racing in Ireland, to design and deliver a new digital strategy across their channels. Working with their stakeholders, including their courses and sponsors, we’ve increased cadence of posting, grown followers and seen a dramatic rise in engagement.
When racing went behind closed doors, our content objectives were to ‘own the moment’ – taking the audience behind the scenes to offer a second screen service for users, working in conjunction with broadcast partners, RTE and Racing TV. We’ve also sought to make previously static channels move, with animated graphics presented with a fun and inclusive tone of voice. Our coverage of the 2021 Cheltenham Festival included a nightly show, designed to enhance the ‘Festival At Home’ campaign, named Green Corner. Ireland’s success at jump racing’s most famous meeting led to record levels of engagement across HRI’s digital portfolio.
