Head of Production/Production Lead | Light Camera Operator


 

Established over 20 years ago, Beat Media is one of the fastest growing content businesses in the UK.

We work with the biggest brands and agencies to create compelling content to power social and digital channels as well as traditional media.

The team produces OTT video, audio, text and social media content for a wide range of national governing bodies, major event organisers, sports, brands and agencies.

We also work with official sponsors of sporting events and teams and within the mix zones at events, tournaments, and championships.

HEAD OF PRODUCTION / PRODUCTION LEAD

5 years’ experience in the industry with at least 2+ in management or leadership roles.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a production team of 10 across a variety of disciplines.
  • Work with the production lead to ensure that projects are delivered in a timely way and to budget.
  • Manage the budgeting process for the department and ensure that forecasts of expenditure are accurate.
  • Provide clear creative direction and vision for the team – oversee the creative processes; motivate, inspire and manage the teams to deliver world class content.
  • Lead the response to briefs with original and exciting ideation.
  • Oversee the creative execution of content.
  • Organise and collaborate in planning sessions to deliver on client strategy.
  • Input into new business development activity with fresh approaches, contacts, and a clear understanding of the fluid and changing content landscape, formats, and platforms.

 Required experience:

  • Senior digital and creative role; leading, supporting, and developing a digital content team.
  • Creating content directly for brands, sponsors, National Governing Bodies, and media agencies.
  • An extensive ‘contact book’ of creative freelance talent.
  • Proven track record of creating engaging content for major brands.
  • Creative development and preparation of proposal and presentation materials.
  • Pitching and presenting to clients in person.
  • Developing relationships and communicating with clients and talent.
  • Passion for sport and storytelling.
  • Knowledge of trends on how viewers consume content on social and digital channels.
  • Experience of the entire production process, from conception through to delivery; including knowledge of deliverables for social media.

LIGHTING CAMERA OPERATOR

We are looking for an experienced Lighting Camera Operator to join our growing team.

You will mostly be shooting and editing short-form branded video content. Each day has different requirements and ranges from working as a single camera operator handling all video and sound, to leading a set, or being part of a larger on-site crew.

You’ll need a good grasp of production logistics – from booking kit to scheduling. On location you’ll be creative in lighting everything from a simple interview to handling a tricky exterior. In the edit bay you will be tasked with editing video to a high professional standard, editing in suitable styles for social media platforms, whilst also demonstrating a working knowledge of motion graphics and colour grading where necessary.

It will be your creativity and talent before the shoot, behind the camera and in the editing suite that will deliver fantastic results for some of the biggest brands in sport.

You will currently be a Videographer / Camera Operator / Video Editor or similar with an interest in sport.

Required experience:

  • 3+ years’ experience in, shooting and editing video content.
  • Proficient knowledge of Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Knowledge of Adobe After Effects.
  • Knowledge of Da Vinci Resolve.
  • Confident using either Sony, Blackmagic Design, and RED cameras.
  • Experienced handling on location audio.
  • Experienced in lighting set-ups.
  • Photography experience
  • Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours and attend sporting events on evenings and weekends.
  • Full driving license.
