Following a competitive pitch process, Sportsbeat was the host news agency for the ICC Women’s and Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2017 and 2019. Since then, we have been appointed to continue this role at ICC competitions around the world in 2020 and 2021. In addition, we worked with the organising committee to produce a range of digital content and media activations to promote their Trophy Tour, raising awareness of ticketing and FanZone opportunities and the tournament’s commercial partnership with Nissan.
The tour took in locations around the UK, across a five-month period, with a series of activations from their family of stakeholders, from sponsors to host venues and media rights holders. Sportsbeat’s roles included media syndication, video production and distribution, photography and full editorial management of the official news service. Sportsbeat also ghosted a series of columns with legends of the ten competing teams that were made available for media use before and after every game, collective insight that generated huge media pick-up around the world.
